They might ap­pear to be one of the most pic­ture-per­fect cou­ples in Hol­ly­wood, but Will Smith has re­cently opened up about the dev­as­tat­ing prob­lems in his mar­riage that left wife Jada Pin­kett Smith cry­ing for weeks on end.

Speak­ing to their daugh­ter Wil­low, 17, in a clip from Jada’s new on­line chat show Red Ta­ble Talk, Will broke down in tears as he re­called his wife’s up­set dur­ing a low point in their re­la­tion­ship.

“There was a pe­riod where Mommy woke up and cried for 45 days straight. I started keep­ing a di­ary,” Will, 50, told his daugh­ter in a newly re­leased pre­view clip.

With a laugh, Jada, 47, in­ter­jected Will, say­ing, “You missed some days.”

Will con­tin­ued, “It was ev­ery morn­ing. I think that was the worst I have ever felt in our mar­riage. I was fail­ing mis­er­ably.”

The cou­ple cel­e­brated their 20-year wed­ding an­niver­sary last year, hav­ing tied the knot in Bal­ti­more on New Year’s Eve in 1997. But, ear­lier this year, Will re­vealed that the pair “don’t even say that we’re mar­ried any more”.

He ex­plained, “We re­fer to our­selves as life part­ners, where you get into that space when you re­alise that you are lit­er­ally with some­body for the rest of your life.

“There’s no deal break­ers. There’s noth­ing she could do – ever. Noth­ing would break our re­la­tion­ship.

“She has my sup­port un­til death and it feels so good to get to that space.”
