“I’ve given up men to sleep with a ghost”

Amethyst Realm has been dating a spirit since February. So Closer sent her along to meet two psychics to find out more about her one true ghoul

Amethyst Realm is planning to start a family with her partner of nine months – who she insists is a ghost she met on holiday. Amethyst, 30, a spiritual guidance counsellor, turned her back on real men 11 years ago, after splitting with her former fiancé. Since then, she claims to have had sexual encounters with 20 different ghostly lovers.

Now, after meeting him during a trip to Australia in February, Amethyst is planning to marry her ghost partner and even have a baby together.

Amethyst, who lives in Northampton with her ghoul, says, “I was 18 when I had my first encounter with a ghost. I noticed things going missing in my home – like my phone – then they’d reappear in the spare room. A couple of days later, I went into that spare room and there was an energy in the air, like sexual tension. Then I felt the weight of a person – the ghost – pressing against me. We soon began an intimate relationship, which meant ending my relationship with my real-life fiancé. My friends and family weren’t surprised. They believe in ghosts, too.”

This first ghostly partnership fizzled out but, this year, while on holiday, Amethyst met her current partner.

She says, “I was walking through the bush when I felt a rush of energy and I just knew I’d met a new lover. Sex with him is the best I’ve had in my life. I can feel him on top of me and my orgasms are so intense. I know now that human men never satisfied me. I can’t imagine being with one again.”

Amethyst admits to not knowing much about her phantom lover. “We communicate through feelings,” she says. “I don’t know his name or his age, but I can sense that he loves me. We’d like

to have a child together. I think phantom pregnancies occur when a woman is impregnated by a ghostly spirit, but as they’re unaware of what’s happening, they can’t carry to full term. I believe I’ll be able to give birth, be that to a physical child or to a ghost baby.”
