After being mocked by celebs over her looks, Lauren Goodger is ‘mortified’ – and sets her sights on Love Islander Marcel Somerville
She’s faced a barrage of abuse over her cosmetic work, after finally admitting to having fillers in her jawline. And Lauren Goodger revealed in a recent Instagram video that she was getting the dermal fillers dissolved following all the negative comments she’d received – even confessing that she was missing her “old face”.
But last week, Lauren, 32, faced fresh humiliation when DJ Fat Tony – who is followed by the likes of Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell – made a joke about her on his social media account, saying, “When you have a Champagne lifestyle, but you’re on lip fillers from a Groupon budget...”
MASSIVE REGRET
The post was not only liked by the A-list fashion crowd – including Marc Jacobs, Rita Ora’s stylist Kyle De’volle and designer Jasper Conran – but also celebrities including Davina Mccall, Lisa Snowdon and Meg Mathews.
An insider reveals, “Lauren was mortified when she realised she was being made fun of in a meme because of her surgery. It was even worse when she saw the amount of celebrities who had liked the post, and now feels as though the whole world is laughing at her because of the way she looks.
“She’s been so upset by it and is massively regretting messing with her face so much. She thinks people see her as a joke.”
Lauren has been honest about her plastic surgery procedures in the past, first showing off her £4,000 nose job on The Only Way Is Essex back in 2011.
Since then, it’s been reported that Lauren has undergone a boob job, liposuction, fillers, Botox and even a £10,000 Brazilian bum lift in 2016.
The reality star told fans on Instagram this month that she was getting her recent fillers removed because they made her face “bigger” and had given her a “manly look”.
Now, pals tell Closer that Lauren is plotting a comeback in the hope that she can win back fans, and is ready to start dating again after being seen getting close to Love Island’s Marcel Somerville, 32, at a celebrity party in August.
Her on/off romance with jailed Joey Morrison ended in July after he was caught messaging other women.
A NEW LOOK
The source says, “Lauren hates the way the fillers made her look, and now she’s had them removed she’s waiting for her face to go back to normal. She realised she went too far with the jaw fillers, but she certainly hasn’t ruled out having other procedures done.
“She wants to come back with a totally new look, but has told her surgeon that she wants to have a more natural appearance. She says he’s banning her from doing anything else to her face and she’s not going to anyone else.
“Lauren is keen to date again and has her eyes set on Marcel. She thinks he’s gorgeous and, once she’s feeling more confident with her looks, she’s said she’s going to ask him out.”
