Emma: “Jordan will suffer more if she doesn’t quit the spotlight”
After she revealed she was set to document her recent downfall on her reality show, psychologist Emma Kenny (left) warns it could bring yet more misery for troubled Jordan
he was pictured S leaving rehab clinic The Priory last month, after spending 28 days in treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder. Then last week – after being given a further month to stave off bankruptcy – Jordan made a bold return to social media, hinting she was set to tell her side of the story following a turbulent few months.
RECKLESS BEHAVIOUR
After ex-glamour model Jordan, 40 – real name Katie Price – was pictured taking a camera crew to film her exit from The Priory, she also confirmed her reality show My Crazy Life would return for a two-part special, documenting her recent struggles.
But Closer’s psychologist Emma Kenny believes the mum of five – who has Harvey, 16, from a relationship with Dwight York; Junior, 13, and Princess, 11, with first husband Peter Andre; and Jett, five, and Bunny, four, with third husband Kieran Hayler – needs to step away from the spotlight and not expose her treatment on TV.
Emma says, “Katie has made a lot of money from making her private life public. But she’s recently faced scrutiny for her wild and, at times, reckless behaviour and appears to have serious issues that really need sorting through. To do that authentically, she must do this away from the spotlight and not on her reality show. Making this so public could open her up to suffer more criticism and pain – I wouldn’t advise it.”
Jordan has endured a rollercoaster few months. Following the collapse of her marriage to cheating husband Kieran in May, she enjoyed a string of wild nights out – jumping between toyboys Kris Boyson, 30, and Alex Adderson, 25. Sources recently told us that Jordan was still dating Kris, but keeping their romance away from the spotlight. Last week, Kris took to Instagram to share a photo of himself building children’s bunk beds – with fans speculating he and Jordan could
be moving in together.
TELL-ALL BOOK
Things came to a head for the star in September, after she was embroiled in a cocaine scandal – prompting her family, including her mum Amy, who’s battling a terminal lung condition, to stage an intervention. But Jordan continued to shock with wild nights out, and last month was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving. It was also claimed last week that she was set to take aim at exes Peter and Kieran in a new tell-all book – something her rep denied but sources consider likely as she’s already released six autobiographies.
But Emma believes this would be toxic for her recovery. She adds, “Katie needs to build an amicable relationship with her exes for the sake of their kids. Staying in this bitter mindset, where you’re out for revenge, is toxic.”
