Rylan: “I want to be a dad”

The TV presenter tells Closer about his plans to expand his family, and spills all on his A-list friends

He shot to fame on The X Factor H six years ago, before finding success as a presenter on This Morning and Big Brother’s Bit On The Side. But while Rylan Clark-neal loves his showbiz lifestyle, his idea of a perfect night is being at home with husband Dan and stepson Cameron, 19, and he adds he’d love to have more children.

Rylan says, “Dan and I are more than happy to come home, get a takeaway and watch Birds Of A Feather. We should do more date nights – but I’d much rather be at home watching some telly. I have a 19-year-old stepson already – Cameron – and he’s amazing. I want to be a dad, I’d love it to happen, it’s when and how.”

SHARING SECRETS

Rylan, 30, has garnered a host of celebrity friends since hitting the spotlight in 2012, with Jordan – also known as Katie Price – Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes attending his wedding to Dan, 39, in 2015.

And Rylan says he’s still in touch with his former X Factor mentor Nicole Scherzinger, as well as his fellow contestants James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas.

He says, “I’m still really close with James and Jar, and I’ll drop Nicole a text now and again. She’s always straight back with, ‘Hey babe, how are you? Let’s meet up!’

“I’m also really close with Louis [Walsh] and Tulisa [Contostavlos]. Louis is the master of secrets, he knows everything about everyone. So when I see him we have a good 20-minute gossip. He’s so naughty! And then throw Tulisa in the mix and we’re all f***ed!”
