Gemma tells Arg: “Stop trying to tempt me with takeaways!”

After flaunting her 2st weight loss, Gemma Collins is determined to stay focused on her slimming goal, despite boyfriend Arg’s offers of tasty treats

She hoped to finally achieve her dream body when she signed up for Dancing On Ice last year, admitting she was doing the show “mainly for the amazing outfits and as a way of losing weight”.

And Gemma Collins, 38 – who’s lost 2st since she started training back in December, dropping from a reported size 24 to a 20 – wowed fans with her ongoing transformation last week, showing off her shrinking frame wearing a tight black dress in a snap on her Instagram page.

SABOTAGE

One fan gushed, “Omg, you look absolutely amazing,” while another congratulated the TOWIE star, saying, “Hard work shows. Keep it up.”

But friends say Gemma’s newfound body confidence is causing tension between her and boyfriend James “Arg” Argent, 31, who she’s accused of trying to sabotage her weight-loss journey.

A source says, “Gemma feels better than ever and finally feels that, after years of struggling to lose weight, she’s cracking it, and can see herself reaching her size 16 goal. But while she’s trying to stay on track, Arg hasn’t made much effort to eat healthily in support, like he’d promised. He’s been cheating on his diet goals and even trying to tempt her with takeaways because he enjoys nights in scoffing food on the sofa with her.”

REHAB STINT

Like Gemma, Arg has seen his weight dramatically fluctuate over the years. He shed 4st back in 2015 following a stint in the Priory for alleged drink and drug issues, and 3st in 2017 after checking himself into a rehab centre in Thailand to improve his physical and mental wellbeing.

During his recent appearance on Loose Women, the singer – who entered rehab again last summer – said, “I’m around six months sober at the moment. I’d like to get a bit of weight off,” adding, “One thing at a time.”

The source adds, “Gemma is so proud of Arg’s achievements, but she’d love them to both be healthy together. She’s loving the compliments she’s getting about her slimmed-down figure and is feeling really spurred on.

“She knows Arg doesn’t mean any harm by trying to tempt her with food and tells pals it’s his way of comforting her. Before, he’d always make her feel better by treating her to her favourite takeaway. But she just wants him to accept that it’s her time to lose weight and support her in her journey.”
