PETE: ‘Vicky’s asked me for dating advice’
He earned a reputation for being Lothario on TOWIE – but despite his track record, Pete Wicks says best pal Vicky Pattison – who split from fiancé John Noble in November – has been asking him for advice as she gets back on the dating scene. Pete, 30, recently starred on Vicky’s show The Break Up, and says her new love interest, TOWIE’S Ercan Ramadan, is a great guy. He says, “Vicky’s one of my best mates and she’s amazing. She’s had a rough time, but she’s slowly getting back to herself. She asked me my opinion on Ercan, as I know him from Essex, and he’s a lovely lad. She’s enjoying spending time with him, but it’s very early days. I’ve told him she deserves the world.”
Viewers have watched a number of Pete’s romances play out on screen, including the breakdowns of his romances with Jess Wright and Shelby Tribble. His toxic romance with Megan Mckenna hit headlines when Pete was caught “sexting” up to 10 other girls while dating her, resulting in their eventual split in 2017. But Pete says he’s thoroughly enjoyed being reunited with Megan on Celebs Go Dating.
He adds, “Having Megan here has been a good thing for both of us. We needed to break the ice and now we can be civil. We even have a bit of banter! It’s one of the nicest things to come out of the show, being friends with Megan again. I haven’t got the best track record, but I’ve realised that behaving how I used to isn’t going to help me find the girl I want. I’m a changed man.”
MEGAN: ‘Men shake when they talk to me’
She’s known for having toxic romances and fiery meltdowns on TV – and, as she reflects on her interaction with past lovers, Megan Mckenna admits that some men physically shake with nerves when they meet her. Megan, 26, says, “I’m really fussy and I try not to be rude on dates, but sometimes I’m just like, ‘Urgh, I can’t deal with this.’ Some of the boys go to talk to me and I can see in their hands how nervous they are. And I think, ‘Am I that scary?’ Surely not.” The former TOWIE star has had a number of roller-coaster relationships with reality stars since rising to fame in 2015. She dated Stephen Bear on Ex On The Beach, before moving on with Jordan Davies, to whom she was briefly engaged. Last year, she dated “Muggy” Mike Thalassitis, but the pair split after six months. It was her tumultuous relationship with Pete Wicks – who’s also starring on CBD – that garnered the most headlines, but Megan admits that filming the show together has revived their friendship.
She says, “I’ve no hard feelings towards Pete. We were friends before we got together and now we take the piss out of each other again. We used to turn up at showbiz events and it would be so awkward, but now we can have a laugh.”
Megan adds that she’s now looking for someone more low key. She says, “I want someone who is business-minded and happy with what they’re doing, so they just let me get on with my career. I’m not interested in someone who just wants to be in the limelight. I want a normal relationship.”
