Vicky: “I’ll freeze my eggs – but I’d love to have kids the traditional way”
Vicky Pattison breaks down as she opens up about her dreams to be a mum after making a heart-rending trip to a fertility clinic
She told Closer last year that when the time is right, she’ll “dedicate herself to being a mum properly”, adding that she’d like two children.
But in scenes from Vicky Pattison’s reality show No Filter, which aired last week, she broke down as she opened up about her fears that she may not be able to have the family she’s now longing for.
She revealed, “I have never, ever known a fella worry about having kids. But women, God, I don’t know how many women I’ve had that conversation with… I am going to want to have kids in the next five to ten years. I didn’t used to want kids, I was adamant I didn’t, but now I feel like what would my future be without them?”
On the show, Vicky, 31 – who has been dating former TOWIE star Ercan Ramadan since the start of the year – visits a fertility expert to look into freezing her eggs.
She said, “For the last couple of months, I’ve been getting myself into this really negative frame of mind where I’m like, ‘What if you can’t or what if you have to have them soon…’ because I am getting older. I don’t want the door to close, There are options. So, I can freeze my eggs. I just think it’ll take a little bit of pressure off the way I’m feeling. I’d love to have children the traditional way, I’m just taking precautions.”
In the episode, Vicky – who split from her ex-fiancé John Nobel last November amid claims he was unfaithful while on holiday in Dubai – cries after seeing a pregnant woman and admits she thought she’d “have it all sorted” by now. She said, “I’m only 31 and I know that’s not too old to have a baby, but I’ve had quite a wild lifestyle. I’ve had some sexual health issues as well, and that makes us really worried about my fertility.
