‘Our show’s a hit because mums can relate te to Billie & me’

Closer was on the red carpet at The Pride Of Britain Awards last week, and we spoke to Sam Faiers about family, fans and trolling

She’s the star of one of the most popular reality shows on TV, alongside sister Billie and both their families.

And Sam Faiers believes the reason The Mummy Diaries is so successful is because she and Billie are so authentic and real that other mums can connect with them.

Speaking to Closer at The Pride Of Britain Awards, Sam, 28, says, “I can’t believe we’re on series seven and the show is where it is. People really like it, and I think that’s because Billie and me are relatable as mums.

“I know we’re celebrities and in the public eye, but we show our everyday life with the kids – the tears, tantrums and all. If we didn’t put it all out there, I don’t think people would want to keep watching.”

The show – which first aired in 2016 – follows Billie and Sam’s lives as mothers, with Sam opening the doors to her home in Hertfordshire, which she shares with boyfriend Paul and her children Paul Tony, three, and one-year-old Rosie.

And with cameras constantly following her around and in her home, former

TOWIE star Sam admits that when she does get time off, she’s keen to get out of the UK and go abroad.

She says, “I work really hard – pretty much every day of the year. So when I want to treat myself, it’s always on holidays. To spend quality time with my family is all I want – me, Paul, and the kids. We’ve been to Dubai recently and we’re going away again for Christmas. I can’t wait.”

Sam rose to fame on TOWIE back in 2010, and while many of her former co-stars have spoken out about the issue of online trolling, she says she doesn’t receive many negative comments and just brushes off those she does get.

She says, “My fanbase is actually really lovely and really strong – I do get the odd nasty message, but I never take it on board. I’m a really positive, happy person and the comments I get are almost always really nice.”
