‘Portia and I have red-carpet date nights’

-

I USUALLY WAKE UP AROUND 7AM, WHEN MY SON ROMAN GETS UP. He’ll come into our bed and have his milk, and we’ll all watch Peppa Pig together or Good Morning Britain if Roman will let us. We’ll then go downstairs to have breakfast – I’ll have a crumpet and butter, or some fruit with a peppermint tea. We’ll spend about 30 minutes clearing up the kitchen – my son eating breakfast usually leaves it looking like a bomb site.

MY AFTERNOONS ARE A ROLL OF THE DICE – I could spend it filming a TV show, at a photoshoot or script rehearsals, performing on stage or going to an event. I love my job and the fact it’s always different every day. However, while I’d never complain, it isn’t nice being away from my wife so much. I recently hosted The National Lottery Awards, which was a lot of fun. I love presenting and it was great to be around such inspirational people. Portia and I also treated it like a well-earned romantic evening for the two of us – red carpets are ideal for date nights! However, staying out late and partying wasn’t much of an option, as we had a babysitter waiting at home.

IF I’M NOT OUT AND ABOUT, I LOVE HOME-COOKED FOOD.

Dinner is my favourite – I don’t eat much during the day, but I love a big hearty meal in the evening, like a lasagne or a sausage plait.

I’ll usually be in bed by 11pm.
