“Pete will take notice when I marry Kris”
As she’s set to make on/off boyfriend Kris Boyson husband number four, insiders say Jordan’s using their wedding to get payback on ex Peter Andre
She left her on/off fiancé heartbroken when she sensationally dumped him via text back in August – with personal trainer Kris Boyson reportedly threatening to break the legs of her replacement toy boy, Charles Drury.
But one month on, insiders say Jordan, 41 – real name Katie Price – has now accepted Kris’ proposal and has started planning her wedding to the 31-year-old, in a bid to turn her life around after a particularly turbulent year.
And sources say that getting noticed by her first husband, Peter Andre, in the process is an added bonus.
A source says, “Katie does genuinely love Kris and wants to marry him, but she can’t help seeing the wedding as a way of getting one over on Pete, too.
“Her life has been a mess recently, and she hasn’t been able to stand the thought of Pete pitying her while he’s got a ‘perfect’ home life with [his wife] Emily. It’s been even harder to take with her kids, Junior and Princess, living with them, too.
PAYBACK
“She knows that marrying Kris – who is a stable figure and is into health and fitness – is her best chance of a huge image makeover, especially as a mum, to avoid Pete always getting the praise for his parenting.
“It is also an opportunity to make him jealous. When he was planning his wedding to Emily in 2015, she had to suffer hearing all about their lavish plans from their kids. Now it’s her time to get payback, because she knows the kids will go back to Pete and talk about all the excitement at home concerning her wedding. She genuinely thinks that, deep down, it will stir up a whole load of memories of their life together for him.”
The children – Junior, 13 and Princess, 11 – have been living with Pete, 45, and
Emily, 30, since last summer. It was around this time that the former glamour girl’s life spiralled out of control with drug and alcohol binges, after the breakdown of her marriage to third husband, Kieran
Hayler, 32, with whom she shares Jett, six, and Bunny, five.
Insiders recently told Closer that Jordan – who is also mum to disabled son Harvey, 17, with ex Dwight Yorke – was riled by videos Pete posted on Instagram of Emily dancing and joking around with Princess.
Last week, she littered her Instagram with snaps of her and Kris playing happy families, with Kris sharing a picture of him and Princess together on his own account – which pals say Jordan encouraged in a ploy to wind up Pete.
“She told friends it would rattle Pete as it shows their daughter has another father figure in her life. It’s a constant game of oneupmanship for her and it’s the same with the wedding. Even though Pete’s happily married to Emily, Katie genuinely thinks it will make him jealous – especially as she wants the wedding to be similar to the one they had,” says the source.
OBSESSED
In the first season of her reality TV show, My Crazy Life, Jordan told Kieran that she had kept all the memorabilia from her and Pete’s big day back in 2005, with pals later revealing she kept a secret shrine to him at her £2 million Sussex mansion.
Earlier this year, the troubled star sensationally insisted she would still be married to Pete if she hadn’t been so desperate for the spotlight. Kieran also claimed she was obsessed with her ex, revealing, “There was not a day that went by in five years that I was married to Katie that she didn’t mention his name. It almost makes you think that maybe he was the love of her life and she never got over him.”
And insiders say clinging on to her happy memories when her life is at rock bottom is part of Jordan’s coping mechanism.
After facing bankruptcy, attending rehab for posttraumatic stress disorder and dealing with a string of driving convictions, things got worse for Jordan last month when builder ex Charles, 22, made a series of shocking claims after their two-month fling came to an end, including that she was still regularly using cocaine.
The source adds, “After everything she’s been through recently, she’s hoping this wedding will give her a glimmer of the happiness she felt on the day she married Pete. She loves being in love and she’s never felt that as much as she did on the day she married Pete – she hopes that will bring back the same feelings for him.”
