Drop a dress size!

Forget about juicing and detoxing, with our easy four-week plan you can fit into last year’s party frock – and still enjoy chocolate, cheese, wine and carbs (honest!)

Party season is approaching, and lots of us will be hoping to shape up and slip into that little black dress over the coming weeks. But the last thing you want to be eating in the chilly winter months is cold salad and smoothies. Closer’s nutritionist Juliette Kellow explains it doesn’t have to be that way. She says, “Depriving ourselves of the foods we love is a recipe for dieting disaster. It means we quickly start to crave them and end up giving into temptation, bingeing, then ditching the diet altogether.”

The good news is, it really is possible to enjoy all your favourites – whether that’s chocolate or pizza – and still lose weight. Juliette adds, “The key is to enjoy these foods in small amounts, give them a healthier makeover and balance them with lots of other nutritious foods.” To help you, Juliette has devised an exclusive diet plan for Closer that’s packed with comfort foods that are traditionally off limits. Follow the plan (around 1,200 calories a day) for just four weeks and you can expect to lose around 8-10lbs – and drop a dress size. Simply choose one breakfast, lunch, dinner and treat every day, have an extra 300ml skimmed milk daily in drinks, fill up on extra veg and choose sugar-free drinks to stay hydrated. Vegetarian options are marked with a V. For vegetarian and vegan diets, substitute the meat and fish options for Quorn, tofu, or extra veg.

So get started today – a slimmer, fitter and healthier you is just around the corner.

As well as following the diet, do 150 minutes of exercise each week – that’s around 21 minutes a day! Cycling, swimming and jogging are perfect – but even brisk walking counts.
