“I’ve met someone special – I’d love a sibling for Sunday”

After brief flings with Love Island stars Jordan Hames and Charlie Brake, Ferne McCann has finally met the man for her and is already thinking marriage and babies

-

Only two months ago, she was linked to ex-Love Islander Jordan Hames when they were snapped in a passionate embrace at a party.

However, Ferne McCann is a lady in demand and moved on quickly from the Love Island star. After a short romance with someone she met on super-exclusive dating app Raya, she’s now loved-up with a new man – whose identity she won’t reveal.

In an exclusive chat with Closer at the launch of Chiquito’s new menu, Ferne, 29, says, “I’m dating someone new and he’s really cool. It’s really looking promising. I was talking to five different guys and now I’ve met someone who I think is very special. I’ve actually known him for a very long time and I like him a lot.

“I’m not going to say too much at this stage, because I want to give this new romance a chance. The minute I say who it is, it turns it into a big deal and puts way too much pressure on things. It’s nice to enjoy the early days of a relationship and see how things go. Hopefully, if it all works out with him, I won’t need [the app] any more.”

FED UP

After two years of heartache, it’s about time Ferne – who now has her own reality show, First Time Mum – had her happy ending. At the start of 2017, she found herself pregnant and single when her ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins – with whom she shares Sunday, two – was arrested and later jailed for his involvement in a nightclub acid attack.

She says, “Everywhere I looked, I was ‘single mum Ferne McCann’, and I was like, ‘Woah, I’m being labelled’. Why can’t I be ‘new mum’ or ‘first time mum’? It bothered me because I hadn’t come to terms with being on my own yet.

“I’m proud to be a single parent, because it’s not an easy gig, but I hope this relationship goes somewhere – I’m fed up of doing it on my own.”

SCARRED

She admits she’s still scarred from the past, but is moving on. She has just bought a new house and is dreaming of a husband and even another baby.

She says, “I would love to fall in love, but I put a lot of pressure on myself. Many of my friends are on their second or third baby and are getting engaged, and naturally, you compare yourself to those around you. I’d love to be doing that with somebody.

I’ve been worried I won’t meet the right guy, but I’m one of these people who decides, ‘I’m ready to meet someone’. I’m all or nothing and I’m ready to get married.”

Talk of weddings and having more children has been prompted by Ferne’s best pal, and fellow former TOWIE star, Danielle Armstrong announcing she’s expecting a baby – and Ferne couldn’t be more thrilled.

ROBBED

“I’m so excited she’s pregnant. Danielle is one of my best friends. She’s going to be the most amazing mum. It’s also made me think that I’d love another sibling for Sunday and I hope one day I’ll have another baby.

“Seeing people in a relationship – it’s hard. I think, ‘I want that’. It upsets me because I was robbed of that in my first experience of having a baby. I would love to meet The One now, and to extend and grow my family in a partnership. I’m such a romantic and I feel like I’m ready for that.” By Olivia Buxton
