How Coleen’s makeover is masking her heartache
Coleen Rooney has undergone an all-over transformation – thought to include fillers, facial peels and toning treatments – in a bid to heal herself from past traumas
Her recent public appearance at a swanky business lunch in Manchester was her first since her nowlengendary WAGatha Christie row, so all eyes were on Coleen Rooney. And fans couldn’t help noticing she was sporting a very different look – with plumper lips, fuller cheeks and brighter, tighter skin.
One admirer commented online, “She looks completely different. It’s not just Botox... It’s her eyes... I think she looks really beautiful but nothing like the face she had before.” Another queried, “I can’t work it out but something is different – maybe weight loss and some filler?”, while a third said, “She’s had some work done, morphing into Cheryl Fernandez Versini.”
And while Coleen has neither confirmed nor denied anything, Closer spoke to aesthetics practitioner Amar Suchde, who believes her shock new look is down to some simple “cosmetic tweaks”.
GLOWING
Amar, of AMS Aesthetics, says, “Coleen is noticeably glowing in her latest photos, which I’d suggest is due to a combination of some cosmetic tweaks, weight loss and facial peels.
“She has a naturally high cheekbone structure, but it appears she may have had filler in her cheeks to smooth them out around the apples. Also, it looks to me as if she’s had Botox in her forehead, which has raised her eyebrows, as well as a small amount of filler in her lips for more definition. It’s a good balance, though, and proportional to the rest of her face.
“Overall, her face does look slimmer, which is likely to be the result of recent weight loss – while the tightness could be down to good facials, or likely a retinol skin peel to resurface her complexion, something which is great for this kind of rejuvenation, delivering a firming effect.”
Coleen, 33 – who has sons Kai, 10, Klay, six, Kit, three, and one-year-old Cass with her footballer husband – has recently concentrated on revamping her look, showing off her toned figure and newly “sexed-up” image in a black lace bikini while on a romantic getaway to Dubai with Wayne, 34, last month.
HELPING HAND
In 2013, the mum of four admitted to having 3D lipo
– a non-invasive fat-melting procedure – after the birth of Klay, and recently said that Botox was something to “look forward to in the future.” Now insiders say that while Coleen’s physical transformation has largely been down to hard work in the gym, she has also had a bit of a helping hand along the way.
A source says, “Coleen loved her 3D lipo and has become a big fan of a procedure called Emsculpt, which has a similar bodysculpting effect. She’s also keen on a new treatment called Exilis, which uses radio frequencies to tighten skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks – something which has really helped since she gave birth to Cass last year.”
And pals say Coleen’s headto-toe overhaul is helping her focus on something positive for herself, after enduring so much heartache. It is also reigniting the passion in her 11-year marriage.
As Closer reported earlier this month, Coleen was tired of the fallout from her feud with Rebekah Vardy, following her accusations that the Wag’s Instagram account had leaked fake stories about Coleen – something Rebekah has
strongly denied.
The source says, “Coleen’s been through the mill recently, with all the humiliation and heartache over Wayne’s scandals, and then the backlash from her spat with Rebekah. She’s endured times of crushing sadness, and her confidence has taken a big hit.
“She was already tired of all the negative stories about her and Wayne, and then the drama around Rebekah just compounded things.
It’s resulted in renewed speculation around her marriage, with Coleen being forced to relive her heartache all over, as some of their painful past has been dragged up.
TAKING BACK CONTROL
“She’s a strong character, and tends to keep her innermost feelings under wraps, but it’s only natural that her selfesteem will be knocked along the way. She feels her sexier, glossier new look has given her a huge boost, and it’s her way of taking back some control, and making sure she fail-proofs her marriage.”
It’s been a particularly stressful couple of years for the mum, following Wayne’s drinkdrive arrest in September 2017, when he was caught in party girl Laura Simpson’s car while pregnant Coleen was at home. A move to the US in 2018 seemed to spell a new start for the couple after Coleen publicly forgave him, but a series of fresh scandals put the spotlight back on their marriage.
In February this year, Wayne was spotted enjoying a cosy chat with a barmaid during a ten-hour drinking session in Florida, while in September there were reports he’d stripped down to his boxers in front of three women at a boozy jacuzzi party with his DC United teammates.
Insiders tell Closer that Coleen is determined her makeover will draw a line under past heartache and mark a happy turning point in her life.
The source adds, “Another reason she’s so committed to looking her best is because she’s finally got the life she’s longed for – being back home in Cheshire, surrounded by her friends and close-knit family.
