CHERYL’S HEARTACHE AS MAYA MOVES IN WITH LIAM
Cheryl is feeling hurt by the idea of her ex and his new girlfriend playing happy families with her son, Bear
She moved out of Liam Payne’s Surrey mansion with their twoyear-old son Bear last April, nine months after the couple’s shock split in July 2018.
And pals say Cheryl, 36, is upset as Liam, 26, has apparently asked his new girlfriend, 19-yearold Texan-born model Maya Henry, to move into the home they once shared as a family.
A source says, “Even though she knew it was inevitable, Cheryl was a bit stung when Liam told her he’s asked Maya to move in.
PAINFUL
“It’s the same home where they had Bear and made so many memories together, which is why she struggled to leave for so long after their split. Knowing he’ll be creating new memories there with Maya and Bear is a bitter pill to swallow. While she’s happy for him, it is painful.”
Last month, single Cheryl revealed she’s looking for a sperm donor amid fears she’s “running out of time” to have another baby, after confessing she wants “at least two more children.”
Closer recently reported the notoriously private singer is keen to move to LA temporarily to avoid the spotlight if she falls pregnant again. Liam has also agreed to have a second home in the city to co-parent Bear, as it’s where he records the majority of his music.
The source says, “Cheryl and Liam plan on having secondary bases in LA, but the UK will always be their home. And with Maya based in London and working on her modelling career, it makes sense for her to move in with
Liam – especially as she spends most nights at his anyway.”
The former couple have remained close since their split in a bid to amicably co-parent their toddler. They spent the last two Christmases together as a family, and Liam recently confirmed their affection for each other prior to his relationship with Maya by calling Cheryl “the most important person” in his life.
EMOTIONAL
But with Maya – who has been dating Liam since last summer – moving in, she’ll be present not only at big occasions but also when Liam is in the UK and looking after Bear at weekends.
The source says, “Bear turns three next month, and Cheryl knows Liam may well want to start having him for longer as he gets older. It makes the thought of them playing happy families while she’s home alone even harder, and it’s proving emotional for her picturing Maya as the doting stepmum.
“Bear is Cheryl’s pride and joy and she hates being away from him. Another reason she wants to push her baby plans forward is so that she will have another child at home with her while Bear is away.”
As a compromise, friends say Cheryl has asked Liam to
“set ground rules” before Maya moves in. These include Maya respecting her parenting style and knowing when to take a step back, and not overstepping her boundaries by enforcing her own rules on Bear.
The source adds, “Cheryl has said she wants to get to know Maya a little better. She’s hoping spending time together will be an opportunity for them to bond, given Maya looks more likely to be an integral part of Bear’s life.”
