Loved-up Sheridan Smith is looking and feeling better than ever, as she prepares to become a first-time mum

Cradling her baby bump on a rare night out in London last week, a glowing Sheridan Smith appeared happy and healthy as she cosied up to her fiancé, Jamie Horn.

Fans quickly complimented the 38-year-old actress – who looked stylish in an all-black outfit – on social media, with one writing, “She looks so different! Pregnancy suits her,” while another posted, “Gorgeous. She’s obviously looking after herself.”

ENGAGED

Her happiness comes four years after she took a hiatus from the spotlight following a mental breakdown in 2016, sparked by the death of her beloved father Colin from cancer.

After previously saying that “her life fell apart”, she since became engaged to City worker

Jamie, 28, just three months after meeting on Tinder in May 2018, and has moved to the countryside and ditched booze. She’s now told friends that pregnancy has been the icing on the cake.

A source says, “Sheridan is in the best place she’s been in a long time, both mentally and physically. Going sober, giving up smoking, and being so loved-up has helped turn her life around.

“She regularly tells friends she can’t believe how lucky she is and that she feels she’s been given a new lease of life.

“She had a little morning sickness, but she’s been eating well, taking long walks with her dogs, doing pregnancy yoga, and meditating.”

The BAFTA and Olivier-award winner was at the peak of her career when she was forced to take a two-month break from her West End show Funny Girl in 2016, following reports she was drunk on stage – something she vehemently denies – admitting the pressure of fame combined with her father’s death contributed to her breakdown.

Opening up about her tumultuous 12 months – which saw her battle anxiety and depression – in 2017, she said, “When you have that degree of anxiety, you just can’t pull yourself together and you can’t explain it. It just snowballs until it’s out of control.”

But pals say, after moving to a rural “safe haven”, she’s firmly on the up and feeling positive.

DREAM LIFE

The source adds, “Sheridan finally has her dream life and has everything she ever wanted. She’s loving this period of nesting and getting everything ready for the baby.

“She and Jamie are great together and she feels so lucky to have found him. They’re in no rush to marry and are just enjoying the final few months before they become a trio – they’re so excited for the future and becoming a family.”
