FAVA BEANS & A NICE CHIANTI?

Drug dealer Liam vows revenge on residents of the village who he feels have wronged him recently, by throwing a ‘Devil’s Dinner Party’ at The Dog. A (reluctant) Mercedes, Grace, James, and Maxine are summoned (surely a simple hair-washing would’ve got them out of it?) and Liam – at his most manic – invites them to a “meal they will never forget”. Yikes… Elsewhere, Edward tries (and fails) to get Tony back on side.

PHIL AT THE FUNERAL

It’s Dennis’ funeral, with Sharon insisting no Mitchell is welcome (“Get outta my church!” etc). As Ian joins her to say their goodbyes, someone is lurking around watching them (yes, it’s Phil!). Once she realises her dear, departed ex is back on the Square, Shaz properly loses it (forcing Ian and Kathy to intervene, but not before a good door-kicking occurs). Elsewhere, Linda drinks some of Shirley’s vodka, later opening up to Mick, with the pair making a big decision.

CORONATION STREET

The words “give the man a break” spring to mind – but sadly, David sinks deeper into his misery. It’s no use when he goes to visit Clayton in prison to tell him to stop bitching about him to Shona, because Clayton’s enjoying it. Nick ends up paying his sister-in-law a visit himself, but is sent packing armed with a message that sends a dejected David spiralling into the arms of... Alina (!). She’s fed up too, and the pair drink beer in Victoria Garden, with a clear spark between them – OMG.

GEMMA’S BABY BLUES

It’s another tough week for Gemma. She accidentally locks herself out of her house, and when Bernie shows up with Mother’s Day balloons, they force the door in and poor Gem dissolves into tears, confessing that she thinks she’s an unfit mum – and how she’s exhausted but refuses to stop watching over the quads so she can get some sleep herself. Bernie takes her to see Dr Gaddas, but Gemma plays things down and insists she’s just overly tired…
