‘I hope to start a family’

Closer catches up with TV reality queen Charlotte Crosby, 30, to talk life in lockdown – and what comes next…

-

Tell us about Lockdown Laughs… It’s full of random, spontaneous viral clips – all sent in by viewers, filmed from their homes. It’s very like You’ve Been Framed!, which I watched all the time as a child. To think I’ve gone from that to being the presenter of a show very similar to it – I feel like it’s a massive achievement.

How does it work with social distancing?

It’s filmed in my house, with the team connecting over Zoom. They guide me on how to set the cameras up and stage the space – and once the cameras are plugged in, they’re able to control everything through the computer. It’s been an amazing experience. I’ve learnt loads of new skills and I feel so lucky to have these new opportunities!

Have you enjoyed anything about lockdown?

I’ve had time to create loads of content for my YouTube channel, which, in the past, has fallen by the wayside when I’m busy with other stuff or travelling. I’m also feeling so much fitter and healthier, and the past couple of months have given me a chance to think about what I want to focus on when this is over, and what I want my goals in life to be.

Has there been a downside?

Definitely. The worst thing has been not being able to travel. The year started with the most amazing experiences – doing the Australian I’m A Celeb! in South Africa, and from there I went to Dubai, then Australia again, then back to Dubai! There was so much planned for the rest of the year… My best friend Lauren’s [Causer] hen party in Bali has been a casualty of the coronavirus, as has my big birthday in Greece! My 30th year is definitely unforgettable!

You still managed to celebrate your 30th in style?

Reaching an age like this, it should just be a celebration of life – of actually being alive! When this is all over, I might be able to do something nice.

If the world returned to normal tomorrow, what would you do? I’d be on the first flight to Bali with all the girls for Lauren’s hen do!

Talk us through your ‘lockdown look’…

Sadly, I haven’t had much of a break from wearing make-up! Basically, I’ve been doing so much filming that I have to keep putting it on for the cameras...

What about staying in shape?

I’ve put on 5lbs, but I’m not worried, as it’s not too much and I lost so much weight while I was in the jungle in South Africa. I feel I’m now at a really great weight for my height and frame.

Have you been keeping fit?

I’m doing loads! I usually have a long daily power walk, and

I do a lot of skipping as that’s really easy to do at home.

I’ve also been trying to do my fitness DVDs at least three times a week – mixing them up with a couple of 15-minute full-body fitness apps. And I’m cooking loads of healthy meals.

What do you hope your thirties will bring?

I hope to start a family – within a loving, strong and supportive relationship. I hope for enrichment of some kind, like learning something new; perhaps an online interior design course. I’d like to pursue some sort of adult education in my spare time, and then, of course,

I’d still like to do a bit more travelling…
