Kate rolls back the years

Her wild nights out were notorious, but Kate Moss has swapped all-nighters for sleep and sobriety – and she’s reaping the rewards with a radiant, youthful complexion. We take a look at how the supermodel, 46, has overhauled her life and looks…

‘I DON’T GO OUT NEARLY AS MUCH’

As a member of the infamous Primrose Hill set – a group of hard-partying celebs who lived in a small area of north London in the ’90s – Kate earned the nickname “The Tank” for her ability to drink her peers under the table. One unnamed friend said Kate would have “Champagne at 8am… wine and vodka with lunch.”

Her bad habits landed her in rehab for five weeks in

1998, while her career was almost ruined when she was dubbed “Cocaine Kate” after photographs allegedly showed her taking the drug in 2005.

In 2015, she was booted off an EasyJet flight after drunkenly calling the flight attendant a “basic b***h” for not serving her vodka. But two years ago, Kate’s close friend, socialite and former drug addict Anabelle Nielson, suddenly died aged 49 – and the supermodel has shunned alcohol since, with sources saying it scared her into overhauling her lifestyle.

“I don’t go out nearly as much now,” says Kate, whose boyfriend of four years, Count Nikolai von Bismarck, is also in recovery. Her sister Lottie, 22, also confirmed, “She’s fully clean. She’s really happy and settled”, while close pal DJ Fat Tony – a recovered alcoholic who reportedly acted as Kate’s “sober sponsor” – said, “We have more fun than we did back when we were addicts.”

‘BEDTIME IS AT 11PM AND I’M CUTTING

DOWN ON CIGARETTES’

In celebration of her 34th birthday in 2008, Kate planned to party for 34 hours and allegedly felt disappointed when she “only” managed 18.

The mum of one – who shares Lila Grace, 18, with magazine editor Jefferson Hack – also coined the term “to be Mossed”, meaning persuading a partygoer to stay up till dawn and then carry on the next day.

But these days, Kate, who started smoking and drinking aged 14, says she “hits the sack at 11pm-ish and watches Netflix”, adding, “I’m a bit groggy in the afternoon if I don’t get eight hours’ sleep… so [now] I go to bed, I drink lots of water, not too much coffee, and I’m trying to cut down on cigarettes.”

‘EXERCISE MAKES ME FEEL GOOD!’

The genetically blessed catwalk queen never exercised during her modelling heyday, but has now signed up to a gym and practises yoga every day. She says, “It’s made me feel really good. I worked out for an hour every day for a couple of weeks and it was enough that I really started to see the benefits.

I used to think, ‘This is torture’. But this time,

I just kind of pushed through. I honestly lost an inch off my waist in about 10 days. Now I really enjoy it.”

‘I’M A GOOD

COOK – I MAKE HEALTHY DINNERS’

She once controversially said, “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” – but luckily, size 8 Kate has now found a healthier, balanced diet, saying she cooks hearty dinners and makes “great eggs” for breakfast. “I do try to eat more healthily than I used to,” she admitted. “I think, as you get older, you have to. When I was young, I was so low maintenance I didn’t have to worry – not what I ate, not about anything, really.”

She also says her skin has benefited from her new diet, adding, “I’ve really noticed an improvement since I’ve been more ‘on it’ with food – like eating salads and all that stuff. I never used to really eat salads, and now I’m, like, juicing!”

‘I DON’T BOTHER WITH LOTS OF FACE CREAMS’

Last week, however, fans speculated her newer, smoother complexion was due to her flouting lockdown rules by receiving “cosmetic tweaks”, with one suggesting online, “No booze, early nights… and plenty of filler and Botox.”

Kate previously said she has a “low-maintenance” skincare regime, admitting, “I haven’t got the time or the inclination to sit there for ages, putting creams on my face. I’ve been to bed in my make-up on occasions, although I wouldn’t make a habit of it, not now.”

But she was recently pictured arriving at a skin clinic on London’s Harley Street, and Harley Street cosmetic practitioner Amar Suchde believes she has been taking more of an interest in her skincare of late in a bid to combat and reverse the signs of ageing.

He tells Closer, “The overuse of alcohol and nicotine can really impact the ageing process over time, as it can break down collagen. As a result, this can make one look tired and the skin quality seem poor with more fine lines. Kate may have had a series of skin laser treatments to resurface her skin and give her a fresher, smoother appearance – but it’s also likely she’s had a touch of dermal filler in her cheeks to help her out, too.”
