‘I’ve taken over so much of what Emily does’

-

After spending lockdown at his Surrey home with doctor wife Emily and their four children, Pete says their family bond is now stronger than ever – even if the couple are experiencing something of a role reversal.

Pete says, “I’m used to working away from home a lot, but now the world has changed, I have found myself, like everyone else, with so much more time on my hands, and I’ve been loving staying at home. In fact, in some ways I have taken over so much of what

Emily normally deals with – especially with the kids’ needs – it is as though we have reversed roles.

“I’ve definitely found it tricky when it comes to helping the kids with maths and English, but as for cooking skills,

I’m your man. Junior spends loads of time on gadgets and may roll his eyes when we try to get him outside, but he always enjoys it – even if he pretends that he doesn’t. And Princess is always happy to join in the fun!

“I’d never have imagined we could be so active together as a family by being forced to be because of lockdown. Just going on a simple bike ride with the kids has been really good.”
