of the show’s other iconic characters have faded into the shadows. Here’s what happened to some of them...

TYLA CARR

She upset fans when she stole Jonny Mitchell from Camilla Thurlow in 2017, but Tyla Carr put her temptress ways behind her when she left the villa and swapped dating shows for babygrows. She had son Archie a year later with boyfriend Rossco Edmonds, from whom she’s since split. And talking about her quieter life, Tyla posted on Instagram, “9pm is my new bedtime! Does the tiredness ever end as a mother? Still wouldn’t trade being a mum in for the world. By far the best job I’ve ever done.”

RYKARD JENKINS

Loveable rogue Rykard melted viewers’ hearts when he quit the show after love interest Rachel Fenton left the island – and the couple were one of the show’s first success stories, dating for 18 months. Since their split, Rykard’s appeared on Ibiza Weekender and Just Tattoo Of Us, and was linked to Jordan. Doing a U-turn on his TV career, Rykard recently told his Instagram followers he was training as a beauty therapist and has since uploaded pictures of himself in a hairnet and plastic gloves while performing non-invasive cosmetic procedures.

SAM BIRD

He was coupled up with the feisty Georgia Steel when he left the villa in 2018, but despite her insistence that she was “loyal”, the pair split just two months later amid rumours she cheated (which she strongly denied), and Sam hasn’t hit the headlines much ever since. But Closer spotted him at this year’s BRIT Awards, where he revealed he is now a DJ and has been signed by a record company, with new music due out later this year. So, watch this space!
