LIZZIE: ‘There’s no way to stop it now – it could be catastrophic’

-

Former WAG Lizzie Cundy knows both Coleen and Rebekah, having spent time with Coleen at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. And Lizzie, who was married to former Chelsea footballer Jason Cundy for 18 years, says the new court documents prove that mud-slinging between both parties will be worse than first anticipated.

She tells Closer, “I think this proves that it will be a lot worse than anyone ever imagined, and it seems there’s no way this can be stopped now – there’s no movement on either side.

“What worries me is that when this finally reaches the courtroom it will spiral out of control – both sides will pick over past stories, character traits and tear into each other’s private lives. I’m scared it’s going to be pure character assassination, just like we have seen with Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s court case.

“So far, they’ve only just scratched the surface. They are both so determined that they are in the right, and so to prove it they will go all-out to discredit the other.

“Both women will have their reputations and lives put under a microscope for the whole world to look at and judge. I worry that what’s coming next could easily destroy them – I don’t see how there can be a winner in this.

“Rebekah states in her court document how it’s already affected her mental health, and if the judge sides with one party, the other will need a lot of help and support in the aftermath of it all, because their lives as they know it will be torn apart. If nasty things come out about them, their friends could distance themselves, the whole football community could turn their backs on them – it may affect their careers, their families, their kids at school. The effects could be catastrophic.

“Rebekah puts on a strong, hard front, but underneath she is a soft, sensitive girl, while Coleen looks determined but she has got a huge, soft heart. It is heartbreaking to know they’re going to go through this hell when they could have called a truce and put a stop to all this. It’s tragic.”
