‘I’ve had to completely change my mindset’
She showcased her incredible 7st weight loss last week in a rare snap on Instagram as she praised her pal Beyoncé’s new visual album, Black Is King – revealing that she’s managed to maintain her slender new figure almost a year after her incredible transformation was first revealed.
As Closer previously reported, Beyoncé had introduced Adele, 32, to the strict 1,000-calorie-aday Sirtfood Diet, which consists of an eating plan heavy in green vegetables, berries, green tea and olive oil, incorporated into two meals and one juice a day.
But as Adele – who went from a size 18 to a 10, and who shares son Angelo, seven, with ex-husband Simon Konecki – shifts her focus from weight loss to maintaining her figure, pals say she’s once again turned to the Halo singer for advice and encouragement.
Beyoncé, 38 – who famously lost over a stone in two weeks for her role in Dreamgirls in 2006, and again after having twins Rumi and Sir in 2017 – said, “I’ve struggled since a young age with diets. Finding something that works and keeps the weight off has been difficult for me.”
A source says, “For Adele, transforming her body like this has required a massive life overhaul and Beyoncé has supported her with the emotional and practical sides of things, such as dealing with cravings, staying motivated and keeping interested with new recipes and tips.
“Beyoncé knows that half the battle is keeping the weight off, so she’s particularly helping when Adele’s tempted to relapse into old eating habits.”
Pals say the down-to-earth star has also been enjoying vegan recipes and meal plans from her idol’s nutrition coach, Marco Borges.
The source adds, “Bey’s a foodie like her and doesn’t have hours a day to exercise, so Adele has really appreciated her advice and adopted Bey’s 20-minute high-intensity workouts. Adele says she has completely changed her mindset, enjoying breakfasts of overnight oats with nuts and maple syrup or avocado toast and delicious vegan curries.
And with Bey’s support, Adele knows she can keep this up.”
