‘I don’t believe in half-fat anything’

From juicing to boxing and bootcamps, Amanda Holden reveals how she’s sculpted her gorgeous figure

I DEFINITELY LIVE TO EAT RATHER THAN EAT TO LIVE

She turned 49 in February, but fans were full of praise for Amanda Holden after she posted an Instagram picture of herself in a red bikini looking thirty years younger during a family holiday last week.

Amanda showed off her abs and lithe limbs as she enjoyed a “Great British Staycation” in Cornwall with her husband Chris Hughes and their daughters Lexie, 14, and Hollie, eight. And her bikini post racked up thousands of likes and comments, such as, “The next Bond babe for sure”, and “I’m 23 and I don’t even have a bod like that – how is it even possible?” Amanda – who is 5ft 3 and a size 6/8 – previously told Closer that her gorgeous figure is down to lots of healthy, vegetarian food

– but not a diet. She said, “I definitely live to eat rather than eat to live. I love my food and I don’t believe in half-fat anything – I have full-fat Greek yoghurt, butter and cheese – just everything in moderation.

“I have a smoothie or porridge for breakfast, lunch is salad or soup and dinner is a Quorn shepherd’s pie – but I love watching telly with a big glass of rosé in the evening.”

And although the radio host and Britain’s Got Talent judge insists she hates going to the gym, she credits her daily morning runs for keeping her trim, and ran the London Marathon in 2008.

She is also a fan of regular yoga, which she says is more to help her strengthen her body rather than to get sweaty, adding, “There’s one exercise called the Breath of Fire, which is great for abs. My body got strong and any excess fat disappeared. It’s definitely made my tummy flatter.”

And Amanda also works out in the lead-up to filming for BGT by embarking on intense bootcamps in Portugal that involve high-intensity training circuits, boxing classes, hiking and cleanses. She has said, “There are an awful lot of people who watch BGT so I want to look the best I can. Alesha Dixon is the same. BGT is like going into the boxing ring. You train for it. You look your best for it and then you do the rounds.”
