Lisa’s new happiness – thanks to Ant’s pals
Lisa Armstrong’s career and love life are blossoming, as she’s found support from some surprising friends
Despite reportedly being awarded £33 million in her divorce settlement from Ant McPartlin in January, Lisa Armstrong has refused to become a lady of leisure and instead is going full steam ahead with her career.
The make-up artist is currently working on two TV shows and is launching her own beauty range, and has even hinted she’d like to spend more time in front of the camera.
AMBITION
Last week, Lisa – who is gearing up to return to her role as head of hair and make-up on Strictly Come Dancing – returned to work on the new series of Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, while she also launched a make-up collection with Avon.
And while she is usually working in the make-up room, she showed her future ambition by liking a recent Tweet from a fan asking to “see more of her” on the box.
Although her ex – who has now moved on with girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett, Lisa’s former PA – is one of the UK’s most-loved presenters, former Deuce popstar Lisa, 43, has spent the past 15 years as a celebrity make-up artist in the background. But behind the scenes, she has been held in just as high regard as Ant, 44, and is even being supported by some of his friends and colleagues.
After reportedly being axed as the make-up artist on Britain’s Got Talent in 2018 – due to the fact it is fronted by her ex – Piers Morgan offered Lisa a position on his interview chat show, Life Stories. Last week, Piers – who worked on BGT with Ant for several years – showed his and Lisa’s bond by posting a picture of them joking around while she checked his temperature as part of the show’s new safety guidelines around coronavirus.
Despite confirming last year that he is still pals with Ant, Piers recently called Lisa – who split from the TV star in 2018 after 12 years of marriage – “just so lovely”. He even appeared to side with her after the presenter’s drink-drive arrest in 2018, saying live on GMB, “[I have] sympathy for Ant’s wife Lisa – they’re divorcing. She’s been going through – she’s a good friend of mine – a very tough time in the public eye... She’s having to have all her stuff poured out.”

Lisa is also close friends with Stephen Mulhern, who is the presenter of Britain’s Got More Talent. Just after Lisa and Ant’s split, the pair were pictured together on a night out with fellow pal Denise Van Outen, and she was also hired for
Stephen’s ITV show, In For A Penny, less than a year after her marriage ended.
With her famous friends championing her career,
Lisa also recently liked a fan comment saying that she has “found happiness again” in her private life, as she has started a romance with engineer James Green, 37.
After going public last month, Lisa was pictured house-hunting alongside her new boyfriend, as she vowed to leave her past behind her by moving out of her former marital home.
And the smitten star seemed to say it all as she thanked a fan who told her, “Just love the fact that A) Your career continues to soar B) You have a handsome good man who clearly cares for you (finally). I wish you... Love, life and magic in all you do.”
