Posh’s fears over Brooklyn’s ex
Insiders say Victoria Beckham is anxious Brooklyn’s former flame, Hana Cross, could spill the secrets and upset her son’s new happiness as she releases a song – thought to be about their failed romance
It’s been just over a year since Brooklyn Beckham and Hana Cross called time on their turbulent nine-month romance, which was rocked by a series of explosive public rows.
And while Brooklyn, 21, has moved on with American model, Nicola Peltz, 25 – announcing their whirlwind engagement last month – his ex is reportedly still “raw” from the heartache, and it’s believed she even details their split in a new song.
PROTECTIVE
Sources close to the budding singer and model have suggested a track on her new album is about Brooklyn, as Hana, 23, is said to be hurt by her ex’s endless gushing tributes to his new fiancée.
Lyrics include, “I wish that someone told me you had a habit for dishonesty... though you break my heart, I want to stay,” and “I saw us as meant to be and you saw me as temporary and that’s kind of rough.”
And pals say Brooklyn’s mum, Posh, 46 – aka Victoria Beckham – is concerned Hana could upset her son’s happiness with Nicola and paint him as “something he is not”.
A source says, “Vic is upset because Brooklyn is on cloud nine after his engagement to Nicola. This is his special moment, so these reports have come at the worst time. Like any mum, she is very protective of him and naturally worries about him. She feels this is hugely unfair and not a true reflection of his character.”
The notoriously private designer is also said to be worried that subsequent interviews given by Hana could possibly spill the beans on their family life.
“Hana was welcomed into the family and while they have nothing to hide, she spent so much time with them that she could easily give away some things they choose to keep private away from the cameras.”
VOLATILE ROMANCE
Posh and her husband, David, 45 – who also share sons Romeo, 17, Cruz, 15, and eight-year-old daughter, Harper – welcomed Hana on family holidays and she was invited to Posh’s Fashion Week Shows. However, after the couple were spotted having several explosive rows, often ending up with Brooklyn in tears, David and Victoria were said to be “relieved” when he and Hana broke up last September.
In stark contrast, they have been very supportive of his relationship with billionaire heiress Nicola – congratulating the “beautiful couple” on the “most amazing news” of their engagement and welcoming her into their family with open arms.
Victoria is notoriously close to her eldest son, often taking him with her to social events, while Brooklyn has described her as his “best friend”.
In a post for his 21st birthday, she said she was “so proud” of the “polite man” he is, while David echoed, “Me and Victoria were brought up with strong discipline... and to have respect for people. Our boys have definitely got that.”
David – who last week posted snaps for Romeo’s 18th birthday – also once revealed that they were such protective parents, after Brooklyn was born, “[I] slept with my head against his bedroom door because I was so worried,” adding, “I don’t think that ever changes, you always worry about them.”
