‘I applaud Coleen for standing up for herself – I’d do the same’

She was once embroiled in her own legal drama – in 2012, she battled footballer Ryan Giggs over a superinjunction granted after their extramarital fling.

And now Imogen Thomas, 37, tells Closer that having been through a high-profile case herself, she can’t see why Rebekah Vardy has decided to push Coleen into court.

She says, “I’m totally Team Coleen. She must have felt confident in her evidence to expose the leak in the first place. And the selling stories aspect doesn’t surprise me, because it can be difficult to know who to trust in this industry.

“While I understand that Rebekah wants to have it out and clear her name,

I can’t understand why she’s decided to take it so far. Court cases are stressful – especially ones in the public eye. I’ve been there myself. Not only is it traumatic for you personally, but it also causes stress for your family. It’s such a pressured thing to do – give the £1m you’re spending to charity or something else instead! I really hope they end up settling it behind closed doors and spend the money elsewhere.”

Imogen, 37, adds that, while she’s never met Coleen, mutual friends have sung her praises – and she says she doesn’t blame the WAG for calling out her suspicions of a mole in her camp publicly. She adds, “I’ve heard through friends who know Coleen that she’s one of the nicest people in the industry. I really believe her intentions were good, and applaud her for standing up for herself.

I’d do the same if I were in her shoes.”
