REAL HOUSEWIVES OF CHESHIRE STAR RACHEL LUGO, 45, ON HER FOOD HABITS
Rachel How much do you spend per week?
In the first lockdown, I was was spending over £500 feeding six [Rachel has five children] plus my daughter’s boyfriend. But now I cut out unnecessary items and shop at cheaper places, and I’ve reduced it to £280.
Describe your daily diet...
I follow intermittent fasting, which splits the day into eating and fasting periods, so I tend not to eat till 1-2pm. Lunch is salmon with avocado, or wholemeal bread with mashed avocado and two rashers of bacon. Dinner varies, but I like tuna steak with salad and new potatoes, spag Bol or risotto. I try to snack healthily, so have either an apple or a sweet clementine. I’ll have a handful of nuts because I hear they’re good for your skin.
Is there anything you refuse to eat?
I can’t stand olives. And I think I may be dairy intolerant, though I eat it anyway then regret it!
What’s the strangest thing you’ve eaten?
I tried oysters for the first time the other day and I found them quite strange. I liked them, but I prefer to chew my food!
What would you cook to impress?
Thai green curry loaded with crunchy sugar snap peas and chillies for a bit of a kick, served with naan bread and rice.
Naughty but nice?
I like Dairy Milk chocolate that’s been in the fridge, or Orange Matchmakers.
Usual takeaway order?
I’m not big on takeaways, but I’d have Chinese – Cantonese-style beef with noodles and rice. ● The Real Housewives Of Cheshire airs on Mondays, ITVBe
