‘People notice me now I’m in good shape’

She lost 4st 10Ib last year during her well publicised “year of health” and also bagged a hot new boyfriend. But Rebel Wilson insists American entrepreneur Jacob Busch, 30, dated her when she was “at her heaviest”, which has given her confidence. She said, “There’s something comforting in that, because it wasn’t necessarily because of what my body type was. He really likes me for me.” Instead, she decided to shape up in 2020 in order to freeze her eggs, in case she wants to start a family in the future.

The Bridesmaids star, who suffers with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), told how turning 40 last March sparked a shift in her focus, saying,

“I was thinking about having good-quality eggs in the bank, so I thought, ‘I’m going to get healthy’. I was freezing my eggs – as every good career woman out there should know, if that’s something that interests you, it’s a pretty good time to do it.”

Her weight loss is partly due to following the Mayr Diet – which eliminates sugars and other foods that can disrupt the gut – as well as being active six days a week.

Rebel, who hosts the US version of Pooch Perfect, flaunted her new slimline figure last week in a Prada pencil dress, and liked fan comments calling her “hot”.

In an interview, she revealed that while she has “always been confident” in her looks, she has noticed other people treat her differently since her weight loss. She explained, “Sometimes being bigger, people didn’t necessarily look twice at you. Now that I’m in good shape, people offer to carry my groceries to the car and hold doors open for you.”
