Demi’s dramatic new look sparks concern
Despite insisting that she doesn’t worry about ageing, Demi Moore leaves fans questioning if she’s had surgery after debuting her drastically altered appearance
She’s known for her age-defying good looks, but Demi Moore sparked a cosmetic surgery riddle last week after looking almost unrecognisable as she hit the Fendi runway with Kate Moss and Bella Hadid at Paris Fashion Week. Fans flocked to social media to voice their disbelief over the star’s appearance. One wrote, “Doesn’t look anything like Demi Moore to me,” while another posted, “She needs to name and shame whoever did this to her.”
In 2002, it was reported that actress Demi, 58, had spent around £180,000 on plastic surgery to transform her face and body. But in 2007, she insisted she’d “never” had any surgery.
Cosmetic practitioner Amar Suchde, from AMS Aesthetics, tells Closer he believes Demi has had cheek and lip fillers, plus
Botox, and possibly the tip of her nose “lifted” to achieve the overall “unnatural look”. Amar says, “It looks like she’s had filler in her cheeks. The volume and type of filler combined has enhanced the width of her face, and it looks slightly unnatural. She looks puffy. She looks better when she’s more naturally contoured. It also looks like she’d had a thread lift (where invisible fine threads are placed under the skin to lift it), as the skin isn’t sagging like it naturally would. A threadlift lifts and tightens the skin and also increases collagen production in that particular area, which is useful for plumping the skin. It also looks like Demi has had Botox around the forehead and eyes. “Also, it seems she may have had a tip lift on her nose, and fillers in her lips. There’s a slight bit of swelling underneath the lower lip which shows there could be filling there.”
Before turning 50 in 2012, mum-of-three Demi is believed to have tried a nonsurgical skin tightening procedure called the Thermage technique, which applies radio frequency to rejuvenate and firm skin.
But in 2019, she revealed she was “embracing” the natural ageing process. Demi said, “Gravity is going in some directions I’m not fond of. I can look in the mirror occasionally and say, ‘You’re lying, I don’t look like that.’ But I feel, for myself, it’s about acceptance… embracing it and no longer looking for what’s wrong – just being accepting of everything.”
