Will Louise ever be able to recover from her divorce?
Louise Redknapp received an outpouring of support last week, after revealing she was left feeling suicidal in the wake of her split from footballer husband Jamie.
The former Eternal singer, 46 – whose 19-year marriage came to an end in 2017 – also expressed her regret over not trying to save her relationship with Jamie, 47, with whom she shares sons Charley, 16, and Beau, 12.
She said, “Before anyone could stop me, I just ran as fast as the wind would take me. I never once looked behind, until maybe too late. I should have paused for a minute and thought about other people and had just a bit more time to work out why I felt I couldn’t do it any more. All I know is, I wish I’d tried [to save the marriage].”
Louise and Jamie’s romance appeared to unravel following her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing back in 2016.
At the time, it was reported that Jamie had become increasingly concerned by Louise’s closeness to her prodance partner, Kevin Clifton.
Meanwhile, Kevin’s then-wife, Karen, supposedly told Jamie that Louise was “ruining” her marriage. While Louise and Jamie filed for divorce in December 2017, Kevin and Karen’s relationship came to an end just months later, in February 2018.
Last week, ’90s pop star Louise admitted that for a “split second” she wanted it all to “be over” as she realised her relationship had run its course.
She explained, “I would be standing in central London, watching the buses whizz past and I would wonder whether it would be easier for a bus to take me out. All it would take was for me to step out at the wrong moment and it would all be over.”
