Retired football legend Peter Crouch and TV presenter Maya Jama, teaming up for a BBC entertainment show airing alongside coverage of Euro 2020…
What can we expect from the show? PETER CROUCH, 40: It’s basically an after-party festival for the Euro games. We’ve got some great guests on, plus music and a surprise or two in store for sure. Whatever the outcome, we’ll be having a good laugh and I honestly can’t wait.
MAYA JAMA, 26: I’ve always been a football fan, so I’m thrilled to be in among the action for the Euros. Expect lots of laughs, celebrities – and of course the latest on the biggest games this summer! I feel like we need this at the moment.
Tell us about the music element. MAYA: Alex Horne and The Horne Section are our house band, and they play whatever song we like. Alex is a comedian so he’s super-funny anyway, and there will be some twists and turns on the classics. I’m going to put a request in for some rap music, and Peter knows they can’t just do Lionel Richie… PETER: Ha! There’s nothing wrong with a bit of Dancing On The Ceiling…
How can viewers get involved? MAYA: We want them to Tweet in constantly. There’s a section called “Pop Up Opinion” where fans will get the chance to talk about the game they’ve just watched. It’s live so things can be incorporated as we go along… And Peter, let’s not forget “the robot…”
PETER: That was horribly embarrassing, and I’m still talking about it today…
MAYA: It’s iconic, and I always wonder if you knew you were going to do that?
PETER: You know what, it just flows through my body – I’ve got the moves…
