Isaw an article recently where a psychologist warned parents to be concerned if their kids start acting mature for their age, because it could be external pressure or responsibility causing them to worry and work harder.
But I think some children are just naturally more mature than others and it often comes down to where you fit in the family set-up.
For example, if you’re the eldest, you tend to get on with things, and also, some children are naturally more aware, caring and considerate. I have threeyear-old twins – my daughter Indigo is always concerned about her twin brother Kit.
I’m not sure if that’s a twin thing though, because she doesn’t necessarily care so much about my eldest son, Fox, who’s nine.
However, I am conscious about them maturing too quickly. I’m trying to hang on to as much of their childhood as I can.
I’m a lot more aware of it the second time around. I do think it goes even faster with twins because you’re in a constant panic. It’s about being present and doing as much as we can because it goes so fast.
I also read recently that Katy Perry is keeping some of her outfits to pass down to her baby daughter Daisy – who she shares with Orlando Bloom – and I’m doing the same with mine!
