‘I need some more balance’

-

usanna Reid has been at the helm of breakfast TV since the early noughties, but recently admitted she is “trying to hold it all together” after quitting her newspaper column to make more time for her family.

And after reuniting with Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish, 55, following a two-year split, pals say the 50-year-old GMB presenter – who has said she finds it hard to have a social life amid her 3.45am wake-up calls and early bed time – is quietly considering whether she should look more seriously at job offers that could make her romance a little easier.

A source says, “Susanna loves her job but years of being sleep deprived has understandably taken its toll and had a knock-on effect on her personal life too. Steve’s a night bird and loves to go out for dinner and to the theatre, which makes it hard given Susanna’s differing schedule.

“While he’s supportive of her career, their reunion has prompted Susanna to weighup what’s important – and consider whether there are ways of finding a better

Swork/life balance.”

After splitting from the father of her three sons, Dominic Cotton, in 2014, Susanna revealed how her unsociable work hours made it difficult to have a relationship. In 2017, she revealed, “Dating is very distracting. I haven’t got time for it. My work is really intense.”

And despite striking-up a romance with Steve in 2018, their surprise split a year later was said to be down to their “hectic schedules”, with sources revealing they “didn’t have time” to make it work.

Insiders recently told Closer how the presenter was feeling torn over whether to walk from her reported £750k-a-year job following her co-host Piers Morgan’s dramatic exit in March.

And despite shooting-down reports she could also be set to jump ship, pals say her reconciliation with Steve may eventually prompt a change of heart. The source adds, “Susanna has given her all to her career and made huge sacrifices along the way. She has no regrets, but she’s come to a point where she wants to make more time for her romance, sons and friends. So at some point she may well have some decisions to make.”
