His seven-week absence from his BBC Radio 2 show and social media sparked concern among fans – and last week it emerged that Rylan Clark-Neal was taking leave after splitting from husband Dan Neal.
Rylan, 32, broke his silence by revealing his marriage was over after he had “made a number of mistakes” which he “deeply regrets”.
He added in a statement, “I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help.”
He later told his followers, “I am working towards getting back to the jobs I love in due course. Thank you for being patient with me.”
Rylan and Dan married in 2015 after a two-year relationship, and Rylan was also stepfather to Dan’s son 21-year-old son, Cameron, from his previous relationship. He’d said on a number of occasions he’d love to have kids himself one day, saying in 2017, “I’m already a stepdad but, of course, I’d like to have kids. Since day one I’ve always wanted kids. I love babies.”

Katie Price in 2011, but found mainstream fame a year later on The X Factor, where he was mentored by Nicole Scherzinger. He went on to appear on Big Brother, and then landed a job presenting Big Brother’s Bit On The Side. Currently, he presents Supermarket Sweep, Ready Steady Cook, Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two and is often a stand-in on This Morning.
Dan was also an aspiring presenter, and had occasionally presented segments on This Morning alongside Rylan.
While the reason for their split is unclear, fans offered their support for Rylan on his Instagram page, with one writing, “Hope you’re doing okay Rylan” and another posting, “Just seen the news,
stay strong and keep smiling.”
And sources say that Rylan’s celebrity friends have also been reaching out to support him through this tough time.
A source says, “Rylan’s celeb pals have been rallying around him and checking in constantly to ensure he knows he has people to talk to. Katie [Price aka Jordan] in particular has been his rock over the last few weeks, and given she’s been through three marriage splits herself, she understands the torment he’s going through. Nicole has also been messaging him and has given him a list of books that have helped her through painful break-ups. He’s also had messages from Simon [Cowell] and Ruth [Langsford].
“Having such an incredible support network around him has been hugely comforting as, while he’s in a very dark place, he knows he has people who love and care about him and it means a lot knowing he’s not alone and has people he can call any time of the day or night.”
