CHERYL’S HURT AS LIAM ‘REACHES OUT’ TO MAYA
Rumours that his romance with Cheryl was back on the cards had been growing recently, with speculation reaching fever pitch after a picture emerged of the former couple visiting his family two weeks ago.
But it seems their reunion is on rocky ground after Liam Payne – who split from ex-fiancée, Maya Henry, last month – posted a cryptic message on his Instagram stories.”
Tagging the 20-year-old Texan-born model in the post, Liam wrote, “Don’t let someone go if you really want to love them, even if you have to learn to love them through your own mistakes,” adding “I love you, we calm.”
Soon after, he removed the tag, but pals say the emotionally-charged post left Cheryl – with whom he shares four-year-old son Bear and recently admitted he’d become “extremely close” to again – feeling hurt.
A source says, “She understands he’s still affected by the split and is soul-searching, but him seemingly reaching out to Maya has left her feeling confused over the status of their relationship, which she’d thought could be leading to a proper reconciliation.”
Insiders recently told Closer that Cheryl and Liam have been playing happy families, enjoying cosy nights in together, and the pair were also photographed outside his sister’s Wolverhampton home.
The source adds, “She hasn’t fallen out with him over it and knows things will come together if they’re destined to. The most important thing is how well they co-parent Bear.”
