HYDRATE WITH SERUM

One of the quickest ways to make your skin glow is to properly moisturise. Even if you have oily skin, it’s important to make sure it’s getting the hydration it needs in order to function at its best. If you want to step up your current routine, add in a humectant product. These work to retain moisture in the skin and will help lock in that glow. Look out for cleanser and serum products containing hyaluronic acid or glycerin and apply before your usual moisturiser, for a hydrating boost.

SMOOTH YOUR SKIN

Incorporating an exfoliating acid into your routine will help to slough off any dead, dull-looking skin cells and create a smoother appearance. Smooth skin equals glowing skin! Look out for products containing glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid or azelaic acid – whichever is most suited to your skin type. Your exfoliant can be in your cleanser, as a toner or as a leave-on serum. Use it one to two times a week.

WEAR SPF50 EVERY DAY

Even when it’s cloudy, the sun’s rays are powerful. If you want your skin to retain a youthful glow then you must wear sun protection – even in winter. It is the most important step in your routine and will do more to preserve your skin than anything else. Use a minimum factor of 30, but 50 is best. As long as it has a high enough SPF and you use the recommended amount of two fingers' worth, then it doesn’t matter if it is a stand-alone suncream or a moisturiser with

SPF mixed into it.
