WASH DAILY

There is so much conflicting advice out there on this, but

I think you should wash your hair every day, or at least every other day. Your scalp is the growing medium for your hair, and I always liken it to growing from seed.

If you use seed compost, you’ll get loads of plants, but if you put them into clay, they really don’t thrive. Your scalp is the same. By keeping it clean and balanced, you will have better hair growth and shinier, more manageable hair.

SPEND OVER £5 ON SHAMPOO!

Anywhere between £5 and £25 is a reasonable price to pay for shampoo or conditioner. If it’s below £5, the cleansers will be harsh and they won’t be great on your scalp or your hair. Products costing much over £25 might contain the tiniest drop of something special, like gold or frankincense, but the amount will be so small it may as well not be there!

MASSAGE YOUR SCALP

Give your scalp a good massage when shampooing, or use a scalp massager [available at Boots or Amazon] in the shower. This increases the blood flow, which means the follicles will be active and make the hair grow.

SLEEP ON SILK

For healthier, less tangled hair, cut down on any friction. Tie it back with a silk or satin scrunchie, to reduce breakages and damage, and sleep on a silk pillow case. Your hair will be far less tangled and matted because there isn’t that friction overnight. You also won’t wake up with lots of hair on the pillowcase, which is great if you’re concerned about hair loss.
