‘This show is great escapism and we hope it brings joy’

Holly Willoughby and Bradley Walsh return to spread joy in the show where holiday dreams come true…

-

What can you tell us about Take Off? HOLLY, 40: It’s an entertainment show for all the family where you can win amazing holidays to incredible destinations. It’s great escapism for everyone right now!

BRADLEY, 61: It’s sensational! We’re sending families on holiday – and it’s about time they had one in these dreary days.

Do you enjoy working together? HOLLY: It was lovely, although Bradley does need reining in and keeping in check slightly! BRADLEY: Working with Holly is fantastic, and I’m not just saying that because she’s my mate – I absolutely mean it.

HOLLY: Would you go so far as to say it’s a career high? BRADLEY: I wouldn’t say that [laughs], but as live TV goes, Holly Willoughby is unsurpassed as an absolute master.

HOLLY: Cheers, Bradley! BRADLEY: Cheers to you, girl!

Your favourite Take Off game? HOLLY: “Guesstination” – the one with the conveyor belt, because the link between the country or American state that you’re trying to guess, and what comes around on the belt, is always a bit tenuous. You can also play along at home which is great fun. BRADLEY: I love the speed of the end game, “Standby Seats”. Using the departure and arrivals board is a very unique way of getting people from the audience to play the games,

I love all that.

Which game do you think you’d be good at?

HOLLY: Brad is a general knowledge sponge, so he’d be good at that round. I think I’d be good at “Final Call” where they have to guess the timings – I’ve got a good gauge of time. BRADLEY: That’s interesting because I’d find that quite tricky. I couldn’t even gauge when I’m meant to come in [to speak] and I was being directed! I loved the memory game we had on the Christmas show where you had to tap the lights in the right order. We couldn’t do it for the series because it was in the shape of a Christmas tree. HOLLY: I would have been rubbish at that.

What would be your dream holiday destination?

HOLLY: The Maldives for me. To get away from everything to a tropical paradise with a beach and warm seas would be ideal. BRADLEY: If the weather was lovely all the time, then England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland would be sensational. Northern

Ireland as well, but you can’t rely on the weather and that’s why people go abroad. Where would I love to go? Holly, take a guess… It’s not for everyone, but I’m 61 and I love it!

HOLLY: Oh Florida, Disney! BRADLEY: Disney, yes, I absolutely love everything about it. I go for about two weeks and go mad around the parks every day. It’s sensational – I love a water park.

Finally, do you think Take Off is the feel-good show people need right now?

HOLLY: Going on holiday will be more exciting than ever, we’re not quite there yet, but almost. I think now is probably the best time for this show to go out. BRADLEY: I totally agree that it couldn’t come at a better time. We’re sending friends and family away and people need this now. It’s been so tough for everyone, and I hope this brings people a little bit of joy.
