SARAH STILL ‘TOTALLY INLOVE’ AFTER 21-YEAR MARRIAGE
Carrie Bradshaw was notoriously unlucky in love, having 28 boyfriends before finding The One in Mr Big. However, in real life, actress Sarah Jessica Parker – also known as SJP – is happily settled and in love with husband of 21 years, Matthew Broderick.
Last week, the pair were pictured on the beach in New York’s Hamptons, with their twin daughters, Tabitha and Marion, aged 12, during a break from filming.
A source tells Closer, “Filming the new series has been fun but intense, so Sarah’s time off is always spent with her family. Matthew is a huge support and comfort to her, and there’s nobody she would rather spend her time with. He keeps her grounded and – after all those years together – they still have as much a connection as they ever did and are totally in love.”
The pair met in 1991 but didn’t start dating until a year later, as she was still reeling from her highly publicised break-up with actor Robert Downey Jr, whom she dated for seven years.
After marrying in 1997, the couple went on to have three children together – James, 18, and their twins.
Sarah, 56, says of their longevity, “I know this sounds nuts, but we have lives that allow us to be away and come back together... I love him, and I think he’s brilliant. I’m sure I annoy him. He annoys me sometimes. I think the longer you can last, the more invested you just are.”
Meanwhile, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off actor Matthew, 59, recently said, “I’m very grateful and I love her.
It’s amazing – I can’t believe that it’s been that long. It doesn’t feel like it.”
