Fashion: Seeing double... Carrie Bradshaw is back!
TOWIE fans were delighted when original star Amy Childs returned to the show last year after a 10-year hiatus. The beautician was famed for giving vajazzles and her groomed image and tells Closer during the cast’s trip to Dorset that looking so glam takes a lot of time and effort.
Amy, 31, says, “I get up at 6am to do my make-up and tong my hair, but there’s all the preparation before that. There’s getting my pedicures, fake tan, eyebrows, facials, lashes and waxing... I said to Mum the other day, ‘It’s a full-time job!’”
But the salon owner – who’s mum to Polly, four, by ex Bradley Wright, and Ritchie Jr, three, by her ex Ritchie, whose surname she has kept private – also has plans to change her career soon.
She says, “I would love to become a midwife, I feel it’s something that would suit me so I would like to train to do it. Some people say they hate the newborn stage, but I love it. I don’t know if I’ll have another of my own, though – I need a partner first!”
Single Amy – who split from her last boyfriend, Tim, in July after their 14-month romance “fizzled out” – has reportedly amassed a £5million fortune since she first starred on TOWIE in 2010, thanks to her salon, clothing line, range of cosmetics and baby care franchise.
And she says of her original gang, “We’ve all done so well, we are successful. Now I’ve got Polly on [the show] and that makes me feel emotional because it’s where it started for me, so it’s gone full circle.”
