THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT CHRISTMAS MOVIES

What’s in store? ell, I very much enjoyed dressing as Bing Crosby – an extremely butch Bing Crosby, as you can imagine, and we stay faithful to the original film [ White Christmas]. That’s all we care about – authenticity! We have a real laugh and there is something very camp about a Christmas special.

What’s it like working with Alan Carr and co?

We have such a fun time, and Alan is the funniest person. Plus, Jennifer [Saunders] and Michael [Sheen] are such heroes that you can’t help but be inspired by them. When we do the White Christmas spoof, Jennifer is kind of laser focus in her timing, and very amusing.

It’s a running joke that Alan always talks about Adele…

I’m always making fun of him – going, “Oh yeah? Talking about Adele again?” He can’t go more than about 12 minutes into a recording before he’s got his new Adele anecdote. She never comes to the recordings; you know what I mean? So, I don’t think they know each other at all! What’s your fave Christmas film? I’m glad you asked! I love The Muppet Christmas Carol – which is actually authentic and true to the Dickens novel, of course.

Do you follow any traditions?

I don’t, but my mum always likes to have a bottle of Asti Spumante handy on the big day. I’ve got my family coming to me this year, which I think might be quite stressful because I’m quite controlling, and they like to get involved as well…

Who would you like to kiss under the mistletoe?

That’s a good question… Maybe someone dashing like Cary

Grant – or George Clooney. Or maybe Paul Rudd because I quite like them to be funny.
