SOLO COASTAL STAYS?

I love the coast and I love coast magazine. Many generations of my family were from the Brixham area and were fishermen, so the sea has played an important part in my life. I notice that holidays advertised in the magazine tend to be for couples or families, and being a widow, I would love to find accommodation for myself, without being too isolated, and to enjoy the benefits of hotel/ guesthouse rooms which are lovely to stay in. It would be good to know about self-catering accommodation for one as well. Jan Cooper

A NOTE FROM A HAPPY PLACE

I’ve been an avid coast reader for many years; here I am enjoying the digital Cornwall edition with a view of St Ives from Carbis Bay! This is my happy place! Thanks for many hours of enjoyment every month when the new issue comes out.

I have both the paper and digital subscriptions, so I have access wherever I am. Eleanor Smith

THE ADVENTURES OF TRAVELLER TIM

Some time ago I wrote a book called The Adventures of Traveller Tim. It tells the story of a young lad who goes out on his travels in a horse-drawn caravan with his dad. Having been inspired while writing, I have since built and painted a half-size gypsy caravan. Now living in Warsash, Hampshire, I enjoy walking along the shore, which gives me great inspiration and helps me relax. For the past couple of years, we have also opened our garden to the public, winning numerous gold medals and raising thousands of pounds for the hospital.

@No_Expert It’s always a treat to see the #seals of #Ramsgate coast. Occasionally I can see them basking on the sandbanks
