NEVER GIVE UP

For years now, I have purchased and look forward to it every month! During lockdown, it is so nice to browse through the places I have been or would like to go. My late husband loved the sea and, as we were near to the Jurassic Coast, we could pop down for coffee, something I found myself doing when I felt down, especially at weekends when everyone else seemed to be with partners. I would then drive back listening to sad music and cry. Now I’ve met somebody who, like me, lost his partner too soon and enjoys the coast. He will text me ‘coffee and cake?’ and off we go for a walk by the sea, which is so much better with company (and the coffee and cake is a bonus). So, I guess the point of this letter is to say ‘never give up’ if you are alone. Life does get better and thank you keep up the good work in transporting us to another place every month.

SET SAIL

Thank you for giving us our ‘fix’ of the sea and for providing continued inspiration during lockdown. I have included a few photographs of the boats we make which are inspired by our love of our great coastline, especially the North Norfolk coast. Our jolly boats are individually handcrafted decorative objects. We use recycled, re-purposed and rescued wood, which is carefully cleaned and crafted to form the hulls. Each ‘sail’ is a piece of handmade and hand-printed textile art attached to a vintage nail, which represents the mast. Our boats always make us smile and feel connected to the coast; we hope your readers feel the same. Thank you for continuing to make the coast accessible to all during these difficult times.

Every month, the writer of our Star Letter will receive a digital subscription to

worth £34.99

So lucky living on the inspirational #Northumberland coast near #bamburgh

@judiroodi When your @coastmag arrives but you are still isolating trying to avoid Covid-19. So you make a coffee and sit in the sunshine, then read cover to cover. I long for the day when I can travel safely to the seaside towns

and enjoy some beach time

@Alex-Bobsleigh Great feature on @caraghchocs in the new issue of @coastmag (August2020). Fantastic
