always important to back up your PC (system and files) on a regular basis in case the worst happens – see our Cover Feature (page 50). This is particularly crucial before upgrading to Windows 10. Easeus Todo Backup Free is a great free program that lets you back up your PC before upgrading, then restore all your files (including any missing ones) after you upgrade. It also lets you create a bootable drive, so you can restore your PC if an upgrade goes wrong.

4First, connect an empty USB stick to your PC, click the Tools dropdown menu 1 , then select ‘Create WINPE emergency disk’ 2 . Next, click Browse 3 , change the location to your USB drive, then click OK. Click Proceed 4 to begin creating your bootable drive. If you encounter problems while upgrading your PC, then restart it, and press the key that’s briefly displayed onscreen to enter your PC’S Boot Menu in the BIOS. Next, navigate to Boot Device/boot Order, change it to USB drive and press Enter. Your PC will now boot from your USB drive.

of the multitude of constellations. We’ll show you how to view the night sky from any place on earth – and even from the Moon or Mars. You can also enjoy close-up views of any any star or planet you choose.

4You can see Deep Sky Objects (star clusters and galaxies) 1 and Exoplanets (planets from outside our solar system) 2 by clicking the relevant icons. To observe constellations in detail, first zoom out to your default level (see Step 3 image), then click the first three icons at the left of the bottom panel 3 . These show stars joined up in their constellations, names those constellations and overlays an image that represents them. Our screenshot shows the constellation Orion represented by a hunter in Greek mythology.

2If the problems persist, download Microsoft’s free Troubleshooter tool. To do that, go to www.snipca. com/21096, scroll to the five blue links, click the ‘Try the troubleshooter’ dropdown menu 1 , then the ‘Start menu troubleshooter’ link 2 . This downloads the tool to your PC. Open the downloaded setup file, click the Advanced link at the bottom, tick ‘Apply repairs automatically’ 3 , then click Next 4 . The tool will now scan your Start menu for any problems and fix them.
