The free Weather Channel app for Window 10 Mobile has been completely redesigned so that it more closely resembles the Android and IOS versions. Install the app from www. snipca.com/21083 and open it. Tap Yes to grant the app permission to access your location, then scroll up to see the weather forecast where you are. The sections at the bottom provide forecasts for the next two days and the fortnight ahead, as well as the pollen count for the next three days.

The app also lets you set alerts for rain and severe weather (thunder storms and snow). To turn these on, tap the three lines at the left, Settings at the bottom, the ‘alerts’ tab, then tap the ‘Rain alerts’ and ‘Severe weather alerts’ sliders to turn them on (see screenshot above). Tap the Daily Rain link to set the time you want to receive your alerts. or ipad at night, swipe up from the bottom of your device’s screen, then tap the moon icon at the bottom right to turn it on.

It’s easy to modify the intensity of the effect and you can also set it to turn on automatically between specific times. To do this, open Settings, tap Display & Brightness, then Night Shift. Next, tap the Scheduled slider to turn it on. At the bottom, you’ll see the Colour Temperature slider, which lets you alter the intensity of the orange tint.

Now tap the ‘From and To’ option. Here, you’ll see two choices – ‘Sunset to Sunrise’ and ‘Custom Schedule’ (see screenshot above right). The first option calculates when it’s dark outside (based on your device’s built-in clock and your time zone). It then alters the intensity of your Night Shift mode accordingly to optimise the feature at any given point of time.

If you select Custom Schedule, you’ll see two options below – Turn On At and Turn Off At. Tap these, then set the times you want Night Shift mode switched on and off.
