Make Snipca links easier to use in Microsoft Edge

- Alison Anderson

Thank you for featuring my Snipca tip in Computeractive (see ‘Make our Snipca URLS easier to use’ Workshop, Issue 495, page 42). I really hope your readers found this useful. As well as Chrome and Firefox, you can also install this extension in Windows 10’s default browser Edge, but the method is slightly different.

To do this, you need to use the free program Edgemanage, which lets you organise your bookmarks in the browser. Go to www.snipca. com/22505, click the green Download button, then run the downloaded setup file to install the program.

Next, ensure that Edge is closed on your PC, start Edgemanage and click the place in the list of favourites where you want your Snipca extension bookmark to appear. On the toolbar, click Edit, ‘Add New (below)’, then click Favorite.

Next, go to www.snipca.com/23220, copy the code in its entirety and paste this into the URL field of the Add Favorite window. Finally, type the name of the bookmark (as you want it to appear in Edge’s bookmarks bar) in the Favorite field, then click OK (see screenshot).

Now close the Edgemanage program, click Yes to save your changes, then click OK. Open Edge and you should see the Snipca extension on your bookmarks bar. If you don’t see this bar, click the three dots at the top right of Edge, Settings, the ‘View favourites settings’ button, then click the ‘Show the favourites bar’ slider to turn it on.
