Is it safe to delete the Windows 10 Upgrade folder?

-

QIt’s now many months since I upgraded to Windows 10 and I’m perfectly happy with it. Poking around my hard drive, I can see there’s a folder called Windows 10 upgrade. Is it safe for me to delete this? John Grove

AThis folder was not actually installed by Windows 10 itself but by a Microsoft tool called Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant, which was then used to apply the Anniversary Update to your system. It’s safe to delete it now but, to ensure all remnants are removed, it’s best to do the job through Control Panel, rather than just hitting the Delete (Del) button.

First, press Windows key+x then click Control Panel. Now, under Programs, click ‘Uninstall a program’. Scroll down to near the bottom of the list to find Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant, then click to select it. Finally, click the Uninstall/ Change button followed by Uninstall to confirm (see screenshots).
