Save space on your C drive

-

Your PC’S C drive contains your operating system, program files and User Account folders, so it’s a good idea to free up space on it because the fuller your C drive the greater your risk of crashing. If you have other drives with plenty of free storage space, you should set these as the default destination for anything you download.

To do that, open Settings on your PC, click System, then click Storage on the left. Here, you’ll see all your PC’S drives with graphs showing how much free space you have on each one. Click the ‘Change where new content is saved’ link at the bottom. On this screen, you’ll see options to change the destination of downloaded content (apps, documents, photos, music, videos, etc). Click the relevant dropdown menu, choose one of your other drives, then click Apply to confirm the change (see screenshot above).
