FACEBOOK: HOW TO SPOT ‘FAKE NEWS’

Facebook has taken measures to help stop the spread of ‘fake news’ during the UK General Election campaign. It said it will stop promoting stories that sound implausible, and delete tens of thousands of bogus profiles. It has also run adverts in national newspapers giving people 10 tips on spotting “false news” (also at www.snipca.com/24301). Facebook admitted in April that its site had been used to spread political propaganda.
